The vision of the Almatine’s Goodies initiative is to collaborate with communities, social service agencies and post-secondary institutions in the US to provide care packages to former and current foster care youth (all genders) who are enrolled in a post-secondary institution.  This initiative was conceived by Dr. Tiffany Lane’s academic research on foster care who aged out of foster care and made the transition to college. She was inspired to create a resource for former foster care youth who may be in need of personal toiletries and school supplies while attending school.

The name Almatine’s Goodies was inspired by

Dr. Lane’s late mother, Almatine Salters-Coleman, who was affectionately known as a caretaker to many. Almatine was a supporter to those in need and was always prepared to make a goody bag full of items for people who may be in need of food, snacks, toiletries and school supplies. She was Phenomenal Young Ladies' number one fan. She opened her home to the young ladies in her community and made goodies for them to enjoy.

This initiative was created in her name to honor her legacy.
